The REACH
Regulation
REACH is EU´s new chemical legislation which came into force
on June 1st 2007. It stands for Registration, Evaluation,
Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. One of the
consequences of REACH is that new chemical substances as well
as chemicals already existing on the market have to be
pre-registered/registered, risk-evaluated and approved.
The new regulation includes principles for both substitution
and limitations; hazardous substances shall, if alternatives
exist, be replaced by less dangerous and the REACH-processes
are designed to ensure a safe use of chemicals. The industry is
responsible for providing the best available technical and
scientific data about chemicals on its production program. This
information is registered by the European Chemicals Agency –
ECHA, which is located in Helsinki.
CWMT has a close co-operation with our supplier and together
we actively work within REACH. We follow the REACH processes in
which one important measure is that the Safety Data Sheets
shall provide all information required by the regulation.
According to the REACH legislation, CWMT is a sub-supplier
and as such CWMT is not responsible for the pre-registration
and registration of the chemical substances that we provide.
Our supplier Duromar Inc, Pembroke, MA 02359 has this
responsibility.
All coatings that CWMT provides, High Performance Linings,
Repair and Maintenance Products are pre-registered and approved
